I don't know what more they can get. Diehards may give their retirement or savings, I think those are the rarest. Those with money, I'm privy to a dozen in my circle, were laughing/irritated at the May broadcast saying "count the cost, the way we do as families and businessmen, you're not getting our money." The rest of jws are broke, the other half are faders.

Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects
by James Jack ina good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

Do you find it hard to be around active JW's now?
by EdenOne ini do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?

I'm finding it very difficult. While visiting my parents jws stopped by. I heard about calls, lame hall stuff....and the end being right here they can taste it. Hubby lectures me that they think they are doing the right thing... I can't stand the lectures.... As a born in, you can't help but be obsessive, enthralled, and disqusted at the same time. -

This is my one year anniversary to waking up, successfully woke up my husband. We are both on board. No meetings since memorial...and only 3 meetings since last year September. Planning on moving soon to totally fade.

A car group out in service stopped by. We don't even live in the territory,not even close. We happened to be outside with the kids playing. We have been missing from all things JW. Husband has had a beard, which he recently shaved. Kinda cycles through that.
anyway, my seven year old is talking to the adults, none were servants, on how old each of the kids are now. Then the kids went on about how baby girl just had her first bday, how much they loved birthdays and her birthday cake. I didn't say anything. The sisters looked wide eyes mouths gapping open. Then they told us now was the time to train them young so we don't have problems later. Husband said, " isn't raising children about training them, or am I missing something?" They offered no answer, but one old sister told us to show up to the KH of we had the time.

we went to shut up our family... but myhusband is seething and said his brain has shut off.. the stupid is amazing.. they are playing videos that are lame and pointless for the first symposium.. for the first symposium... they asked why the bible has no pictures.
because it was before photography...jesus used word pictures!!

There were 5500 there today. Everyone looked haggard and beat down. Not refreshing. We left early, I thought my husband was going to have a heart attack. They mentioned jesus, being like him. But nothing how he is our king, redeemer, nothing.
what killed it was them talking about how the Pharisees placed an undue burden, non biblical rules on their followers. At the lunch people were saying how encouraging that was. HELLO... You all are following modern day Pharisees. We had to leave it was so patronizing. There were words and sentences, but void of anything uplifting. We felt so sad for the people there, struggling to be there doing what they think is right.

John saw someone expelling demons in jesus name and he isnt one of us. The brother emphasised how john said US... bringing attention to himself. Being haughty. They completely glossed over that works were done in christ name.
There was an example of a brother who was on unemployment and pioneered.for 8 months and jehovah provided. Seek the kingdom give jah your all he will provide for you.
Dont miss one day of the convention you will miss what Jehovah is teaching.

A talk about how Pharisees made laws that werent in the bible!!!! Imagine that.
